Linda's Blog: September 2018

The Walk N’Roll event was created due to feedback we received from many different sources.  Individuals we support, their family's, staff, donors and members of the larger community all said we needed something that was family friendly and brings the community together.  What a better way to do that than to get together for a morning of fun and a little exercise!

Our mission is to provide personalized community life experiences for individuals with disabilities.  This can only be accomplished if we are actually out and about in the community.  Lack of transportation is often sighted as a major factor that keeps people from being connected with the community.  Maintaining a fleet of vehicles that are in good operating condition is important for us to meet our mission and keep people safe.  The Walk N’Roll event will help us pay for a new vehicle so that we can accomplish this goal.

The event takes place at Apache Mall.  You can enjoy some fun activities in the beginning, followed by a walk around Apache Mall to show support for individuals who have disabilities.  Like any fundraising walk, you can have people sponsor you to raise funds.

We hope that you will join us for this fun event!  We had a blast last year and expect that we will have an even better time this year.  If you can’t join us at Apache Mall on October 14th, we hope you will still join one of our teams in spirit and make a donation.  You can also share the Walk N’Roll page via email or social media to seek donations for this vehicle!
