News from the Executive Director

It is the holiday season and it is time to reflect on the past year.  I spent some time looking back at the year on our Facebook Page.  It is obvious that we do all we can do to support people to have personalized community life experiences.  Below are just a few examples of what that looked like in 2015.
In January there are pictures of the big movie event held at BCS Administration office with the Olmsted County Providers Social and Wellness group.  In February, Residential Program Coordinators, Melissa and Emily, jumped in Silver Lake for the Polar Plunge and Mike was there to cheer them on.
In March, Richard and Tony were at the Rochester Park and Recreation creating wooden shelves for their homes.  April was a busy month with Brady, Derek and Billy spending the day at Como Park checking out the animals.  Randy and Dale demonstrated their civic mindedness by showing us the value of being a part of Civitan.   And Gail enjoyed a night away at the Chanhassen Dinner Theater, where she saw the play, “Mary Poppins”.
May was the spring dance where just about everyone had a great time.  In June, Rochester was a host city to the Big Red Ball Project.  Sarah, Rebecca and Derek found the Big Red Ball and enjoyed getting their picture taken with it.  Angie and Gail enjoyed the free concerts in July.  In August the BCILS program had a picnic as a group and fun was had by all!  In September Diana, Joe, Dan, Derek and Derek went cabin camping in Spring Grove.
October was also a very busy month.  Becky, Angie, Gail and Jill took a trip to the Mall of America; Gary and Curtis went to a Twins game; and Jordan, Taylor and Marcia saw the Vikings beat the Chiefs.  Becky also got to experience the trip of a lifetime to see Jeff Gordon race at Kansas speedway.  And finally, in November, Kevin was honored for his service to our county as an Air Force Veteran.
We are passionate about supporting individuals to be a part of their community and experience their dreams.  And we will continue to pursue that passion in 2016 and beyond.
Happy Holidays from Bear Creek Services!
