This month’s blog is a dedication to Bear Creek Services 40 years of support to individuals with disabilities. In the beginning, back in 1976, we were the first to open a group home for individuals with developmental disabilities. In 1997 we added a home that supports people with brain injuries. And in 2013 we began our Independent Living Skills program. These milestones excite me as they demonstrate the dedication we have to provide innovative supports.
Bear Creek is always striving to be more: More person-centered, more compassionate, more joy-filled. We envision a life for people with disabilities that no longer defines them by their disability, but by their abilities. This is what we celebrated on May 18th.
Thank you to all that attended our 40th Anniversary Celebration. We are so grateful that you were able to participate in this event with us. For those who were not able to attend, I hope that you will have the chance to see the pictures on our Facebook page. These tell the story so much better than I can.
